How do I turn off lane assist in my Toyota Camry?
My Toyota Camry came with Toyota’s Safety Sense Feature, which detects when my car has deviated slightly from the lane I’m driving in. While the feature can be helpful at times, I usually find it unnecessary and distracting. Is there a way I can turn off lane assist in my Toyota Camry?

While this feature is intended to increase driver safety on the road, the distracting audio and visual cues may actually work to do the opposite for some drivers. Luckily, you can turn the Lane Departure Assist (LDA) system on and off in your
Toyota Camry
.To turn off the LDA system:
- Find the LDA button located on your steering wheel. The button looks like a vehicle swerving out of its lane.
- Once in the LDA menu, you can adjust the sensitivity of the system.
- Press the LDA button to turn on the LDA system.
- Press the LDA button again to turn off the LDA system.
Once the system has been turned off, it will remain off until you decide to switch it on again.
Keep in mind that this system can easily be reactivated when staying inside the lines may be challenging.
