press the small silver release button to eject the backup physical version of the key.
Place the front of the key in the gap that you just pulled it out of. Using the key like a crowbar, gently pry the two halves of the fob apart.

gently remove the old battery and insert the new one.
Then, just snap the two halves of the fob back together.
