How do I recover a destroyed car in GTA V?
I was in a shootout in GTA V the other day and my favorite car was completely destroyed. Is there a way for me to get it back or am I out of luck?

Between gunfights, car chases, and just random chaos, it’s only a matter of time before everyone who plays GTA V has a personal vehicle destroyed. But don’t worry, as long as you have the insurance and tracker installed, recovering your destroyed car in GTA V is pretty easy. Just follow these steps:
- Step 1: Go to an accessible location, such as a sidewalk or parking lot.
- Step 2: Call Mors Mutual Insurance using the Contacts app on your smartphone.
- Step 3: Select the “make a claim” option and your vehicle.
- Step 4: Pay the claim penalty if you were the one who caused the damage (we said mostly free, not completely free).
- Step 5: Call the mechanic from your phone’s Contacts app.
- Step 6: Select the garage in which the now-recovered vehicle is stored.
- Step 7: Select your car from the list of cars in the garage.
- Step 8: Wait patiently for your recovered vehicle to spawn at your location.
Though you do have to pay a penalty and wait for the mechanic to repair the car (which can take several minutes), it’s much better than buying the car and upgrading it again.
