I recently heard one of my friends talking about refilling his car battery with water. I have never heard of this before, I thought all car batteries were sealed off. Can you put water in a car battery?

, what kind of gas you need, and how to take care of the battery. If you don’t have a maintenance-free battery, you’ll have to refill it with water fairly regularly.
Maintenance-free batteries are sealed off and don’t require any extra water while in the vehicle. Batteries that are not maintenance free do need some extra care. If the battery can easily be opened, usually via cap, then you’ll need to fill it up according to its service instructions.
