How do I put my Acura MDX in neutral if it has a dead battery?
I’m stuck at work with a dead battery. I’m in the parking garage and need to back my car out of its spot so I can reach the battery for a jump, but how do I put an Acura MDX in neutral if I can’t turn it on?

Modern cars are equipped with electronic ignitions and shift locks, so a dead battery can make putting them in neutral a bit difficult—but it’s not impossible. To put your Acura MDX in neutral with a dead battery, just follow these steps:
Remove the shift lock cover to the left of the “P” on the console
Remove the physical key from your Acura’s keyfob
Insert the physical key into the slot beneath the shift lock cover
Place your foot on the brake and press down on the key in the slot as you move the shift lever out of Park and into Neutral.
