How do I play music in the BMW X1 via Bluetooth?

I want to play music on my BMW X1 via Bluetooth, but I’m not sure where the owner’s manual went. As a result, I don’t know how to hook up Bluetooth. How can I play music via Bluetooth on the BMW X1?

Here’s how to play music via Bluetooth in a BMW X1:
  1. Activate Bluetooth on your mobile phone.
  2. From the iDrive touch screen, select “COM,” then “Mobile Devices,” then “New Device.”
  3. On your phone, choose the BMW X1 Bluetooth from the list of Bluetooth devices to begin pairing.
  4. Once the system is done pairing, confirm that the PIN on the iDrive screen matches the one on your phone.
