How do I open the trunk of a Honda Odyssey?
How can I open the trunk of an Odyssey? My husband and I live in Texas and are expecting twins! He recently bought us a 2019 Honda Odyssey to accommodate our growing family. I’ve never driven a minivan before, so I'm taking time right now to learn how to use all its features.

Congratulations on having twins! Learning how to use all the features of a new car can be confusing at first, but you’ll get the hang of it!
There are three ways to open the trunk of a Honda Odyssey:
- Using the key fob: Press the tailgate unlock button on yourkey fob. It is labeled with an icon of a vehicle with an open trunk.
- Using the tailgate outer handle: Press the regular unlock button on yourkey fob. Then, head to the rear of the vehicle and stand in front of the Honda emblem on the tailgate. Between the emblem and the license plate of the tailgate is an outer handle. Slide your hand underneath it—you should feel a latch. Pull the latch toward you for one second to open the trunk.
- Unlocking the trunk from inside the car: Behind the left side of the steering wheel is a panel of buttons. Locate the tailgate unlock button, which is labeled similarly to the tailgate unlock button on your key fob. Press it once to unlock thetrunk.
Voila, now you know how to unlock the trunk!
