How do I open the gas tank on a 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander?

I’m borrowing my dad’s Mitsubishi Outlander and it’s about time to refill the tank. The problem is, I can’t figure out how to open the gas tank door! I feel silly for asking, but how do I open the gas tank on a 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander?

No worries! Gas tanks can certainly be different from car to car. But thankfully, opening the gas tank on a 2015
Mitsubishi Outlander
 is very simple once you know what you’re doing. Just follow these simple steps:
  • Locate the gas tank release lever on the floor and pull it upward to unlock the gas tank door
  • Find the gas tank door on the driver’s side and turn the gas tank cap counterclockwise
And that’s that! You’ve successfully opened the gas tank door on a 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander. Just fill up the 2015 Outlander’s 16.6-gallon gas tank, and you’ll be good to go.
