How do I get the dog smell out of my car upholstery?
My dog Noodle loves to come on car rides with me, but sometimes I don’t like it as much because she stinks up my seats! What’s the best way to prevent my car from smelling like dog?

Luckily, getting the dog smell out of your upholstery isn’t too hard. You’ll just need to do a little cleaning and pick up some odor neutralizing spray.
Before you try to tackle the smell, remove as much fur as you can from the seats and floor of the car (assuming your dog sheds). The best way to do this is with a vacuum, but you can also use a lint roller for tighter areas.
Now that the hair is out of the way, let’s get rid of that lingering dog smell. Combine a 50/50 vinegar and water mixture in a spray bottle. Then, just spray down the floors and seats with the solution, making sure to wipe up any excess liquid with a cloth.
If the homemade solution doesn’t quite work, take a trip to a pet store and look for an odor-neutralizing spray. Typically, these only cost a few bucks.
And one final tip: try swapping your vanilla lavender car air freshener for an odor-absorbing alternative. You can likely find these at any big-box store, but baking soda can soak up odors, too. Simply leave a bowl of it on your center console overnight.
