To fix a chip in your bumper, you will need to sand, fill, and repaint the damaged area.
Here’s how to fix a chip:
- Use sandpaper to smooth the chipped area, extending about one inch around the chip.
- Fill the chip with putty and smooth it out. Allow it to harden completely.
- Apply mesh reinforcement with clear adhesive. Allow it to dry.
- Apply repair material with a putty knife, pushing it down into the chipped area. Let it dry.
- Sand down until smooth.
- Paint the repaired area.
