How do I find my insurance policy number on my car?

I have two cars and one got into an accident while a friend was driving it. Thankfully, my friend is okay. But since I have two cars, how do I make sure I use the correct policy number? Do I have more than one?

I’m sorry to hear about the car accident and I’m glad your friend is okay. You may have one or two policy numbers. First, you need to find your insurance card. This should have your
policy number
on it at the top. It should be between nine and 13 digits long.
If you can’t find your insurance card, try looking online or in your insurance app, where they should have the policy information for each car in your multi-car insurance policy. They should specify whether there’s a different policy number for each vehicle or just one. When filing the claim, make sure to be specific by using the car’s VIN.
After an accident, your car insurance will go up when it’s time to renew. It’ll be an excellent time to shop around for better deals, and you can do this easily with the
Jerry
app. Jerry will compare the top 50 insurance companies, and if you have any questions on insuring your multi-car policy, you can text one of our licensed brokers in the app. The average Jerry driver saves $879 a year on car insurance!
