I left my sunroof open when it rained and now the floor is wet. My leather seats dried quickly, but my carpets are soaking. How do I dry out my car carpet?

Accidents happen, and we’ve all let rain into our car at least once!
You can dry out your car carpet using supplies you already have around your house and in just a few easy steps:
Park in an enclosed space that is safe for you to leave your car’s doors and windows open.
Use towels and a vacuum to absorb the water and moisture in the carpet.
Remove your floor mats and wash and dry them separately, and use a wet/dry vac to suck up water from the carpet underneath.
Lay a towel down and press it with your hand to soak up additional moisture.
To prevent mold or mildew from growing, sprinkle a layer of baking soda over your car carpets. This will help absorb even more moisture as well as mitigate bad smells from the sitting water.
Rain causes a myriad of issues for drivers, including crashes and breakdowns, and the best way to protect yourself is to make sure you have the best car insurance.
