How do I download driving directions on Google Maps?
My data bill last month was crazy so I’m trying to think of ways to reduce it. I use Google Maps a ton when I’m driving, and I just found out there’s a way to use it offline. How can I download driving directions on Google Maps?

Good call! Whether you are using a tablet or a phone, downloading driving directions on Google Maps is fairly straightforward. Just open the app, type in your destination, and select the “Download” button at the bottom. On some devices, you may have to swipe up to find the options bar at the bottom of your screen.
Once you have the map downloaded, you can access it even when you’re not using Wi-fi:
- Open the app
- Tap your profile picture in the top right-hand corner by the search bar
- Select “Offline maps” from the menu
- Your downloaded maps will be listed
