How do I connect to Bluetooth in a 2013 Honda Odyssey?

My wife and I just purchased a 2013 Honda Odyssey to fit our growing family. I’m hardly a tech-savant and am struggling to figure out some of the features. How do I connect to Bluetooth?

Congratulations to you and your wife on the new car! You can connect to Bluetooth in a 2013
Honda Odyssey
by following these steps:
  • Start with your vehicle in Park.
  • Press the Settings button on your dashboard.
  • Using the selector knob, click Phone Settings, then Bluetooth Device List.
  • Select your phone when it appears on the list. If it doesn’t appear, select Device not found and search for HandsFreeLink from your phone.
  • When the system recognizes your phone, it will send it a six-digit code. Verify that code with the one on your Honda’s screen. If it’s the same, hit Pair on your phone.
Hip hip hooray—you should now be connected to HandsFreeLink (Honda’s Bluetooth)! The system will ask you to enable phone synchronization. Select On to import your phonebook and call history.
