How do I connect Bluetooth to a Volkswagen Tiguan?

I just bought a Volkswagen Tiguan and I’m super excited! While it drives great and looks good, the only issue is that I have no idea how to connect my phone to the Bluetooth system. Is there a trick to it?

Connecting Bluetooth to a Volkswagen Tiguan is surprisingly easy. All you have to do is follow these step-by-step instructions:
  1. While your car is on, press the phone button on the Tiguan multimedia system to put it into discovery mode.
  2. Use the Bluetooth menu on your phone to search for a new device.
  3. Select VW BT.
  4. Select connect on the Tiguan’s infotainment system.
  5. A PIN will appear on the infotainment system. Make sure this matches the PIN on your phone.
  6. A pairing confirmation will appear on the multimedia screen on the Tiguan, and you’re as good as gold!
