How do I clear maintenance lights on a Toyota Camry?

I just got an oil change done on my Toyota Camry. But when I was driving away, I noticed the maintenance required light was still on. Do I have to manually turn off the maintenance light on my Camry after getting it serviced?

If you recently got an oil change but the maintenance light remains on, the mechanic simply forgot to reset it. Fortunately, it’s easy to manually turn off the light.
Follow these steps to clear the maintenance light on a
Toyota Camry
:
  • Turn the car ignition to the on position without starting the engine.
  • Use the trip button located on the right-hand side of the instrument cluster.
  • Go to Trip A and hold the trip button to reset it until it reads 0.0.
  • Turn the key to the off position.
  • Hold the trip button again while turning the key to the on position.
  • The Trip A reading should flash and the maintenance required light will turn off.
