How do I clean gum off leather car seats?

Please help! I took my nieces and nephews out for the weekend, and apparently, they were chewing gum in my new car! Now I have sour apple watermelon bubble gum all over my Italian leather seats. How do I clean gum off leather car seats?

It sounds like you have a great car, so I don’t blame you for wanting to get the gum out of there right away! Luckily there are several things you can try.
The first—and easily, my favorite—is to take your car to get detailed. Italian leather is very expensive, and having a professional clean the car will save you time, sweat, and money if a DIY cleaning project goes wrong.
However, if you are a die-hard do-it-yourselfer, here are a few easy ideas to try:
  • Ice: Put some ice in a ziplock bag and hold it on the gum until it hardens. Once the gum is hard, you should be able to pick it off.
  • Compressed air: Spray the gum with the compressed air until it freezes. Then, you can scrape the gum off.
  • Soap and water: If there is any gum residue left, use some soap, water, and a clean rag to rinse it away. Make sure to dry the area as soon as the gum is gone.
Contact your insurance provider right away if the gum has caused stains in your leather that you can’t remove. The
comprehensive coverage
on your insurance policy may provide protection, and your agent can walk you through the steps of making a claim.
Now is also a good time to take a look at your
car insurance
and make sure you are happy with the premium and coverage. If you aren’t, download the

Once you download Jerry, just answer a handful of questions that will take you roughly 45 seconds to complete, and you’ll immediately get car insurance quotes for coverage similar to your current plan. Jerry customers save an average of $879 a year.
