How do I clean a car cabin air filter?
What's the best way to clean my car's cabin air filter? I have bad allergies, so I want to make sure the air in my car is properly filtered.

“The best way to clean a car cabin air filter is to replace it altogether. Fortunately, new filters are cheap and easy to install—and a fresh filter should definitely help your car’s air quality!
Consult your car’s manual to determine which cabin air filter your vehicle requires. While you’re looking that up, note where the filter is located in your vehicle. Typically, the air filter housing is right behind the glove box, but this will vary by make and model.
After you buy a new one, here’s how to go about installing a cabin air filter in most cars:
- Start by opening the glovebox.
- Once you have it open, you should be able to lift it out of place or push some tabs to release it.
- After you remove the filter, replace it with the new one.
You may want to check the cabin air filter regularly as part of your
basic car maintenance schedule
