How do I check tire pressure on a Nissan Altima?

I have a Nissan Altima that has great handling—or at least until a few days ago. I was driving recently, and the car was pulling pretty significantly to the left, so I think I need to check the tires. How can I check the tire pressure on an Altima?

Sorry to hear about the handling on your Altima. Fortunately, checking the air is pretty simple. Just follow these steps to check the tire pressure on a Nissan Altima:
  1. Turn on accessory mode on your car. Newer versions of the Nissan Altima feature an easy-fill tire system, so when your tire inflates to the proper pressure, you’ll hear a beep.
  2. Open the driver’s side door and look at the door jamb to find the correct PSI. This will vary by year.
  3. Unscrew the valve cap on the valve stem.
  4. Press a tire gauge against the valve stem to get an accurate PSI rating.
  5. Fill or deflate the tire as necessary. Keep in mind that you’ll hear the beep from the Easy-Fill System on newer models once you reach the appropriate level.
If you ever need to replace the tires, you’re looking at a sizable bill. The good news is that you can always offset the costs of new tires by lowering your
