How do I check tire pressure on a Mazda CX-9?

My Mazda CX-9 might just be my most prized possession. So when it started to handle oddly, I naturally got concerned. My friend told me that I probably just need to check tire pressure, but I’ve never done it before. How do I check it?

Checking the tire pressure on a Mazda CX-9 is surprisingly easy. All you need to do is follow these steps:
  1. Find the PSI or tire pressure inside the driver’s side door jamb of your vehicle. For the Mazda CX-9, the PSI is 34 for 20-inch wheels and 36 for 18-inch wheels.
  2. Go over to one of the tires and unscrew the valve cap from the valve stem.
  3. Push your tire gauge onto the valve stem to get a PSI rating.
  4. Fill or deflate your tires to reach the recommended PSI.
  5. Repeat for all of the other tires.
Your Mazda CX-9 has a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), so you should always check the tire pressure if you see the dashboard light on. This light looks like a tire with an exclamation point in the middle. If you see that, fill your tires ASAP.
