To check if your car insurance policy is still active, contact your car insurance company directly or access your policy information online or through their mobile app—and do not drive until you can confirm coverage.

Check your mail and email: Your car insurance company is required to mail you a notice of cancellation before they cancel your policy. They may have also sent an email indicating your policy is pending cancellation.
