How do I change my name on my car loan?

I just got divorced and I'm going back to my maiden name. How do I change my name on a car loan?

I’m sorry to hear about your divorce but, thankfully, there is good news. Getting your name changed on a
car loan
is surprisingly easy. In most cases, you can email, mail, fax, or complete an in-person visit to get your name changed.
All you need to do is present evidence of the divorce and the subsequent name change. Normally, this will be the legal paperwork approved by the court to change your name, along with identification showing your maiden name. Then, you can email, fax, or present them in person to the lender. That’s all there is to it!
If you’re changing your name on your car loan, it’s a good idea to update other important information like your
car insurance
policy. You’ll probably have to present the same documentation, but the switch should be almost instantaneous. And while you’re updating your policy, you may want to check to see if you can save money too. Use the
