How do I add a new car to my Progressive insurance policy?

I want to add a new car to my Progressive insurance. My daughter just graduated college, and as a present, I'm planning to get her a new car. I've never had to add a car to my insurance policy, though, and I'm not sure where to start—so how do I add a car to a Progressive car insurance policy?

“Congratulations to your daughter (and to you for such a generous present)! To add a new car to your
Progressive
insurance policy, all you need to do is call Progressive at 1-800-776-4737 or log onto their website.
You’ll need to provide them with the following information:
  • Year, make, and model of the vehicle
  • License plate number
  • State of registration
  • VIN (vehicle identification number)
If you financed the vehicle, you will need to add full coverage as a stipulation of the loan. This includes,
comprehensive coverage
, collision coverage, and liability coverage.
It’s also good to keep in mind that unfortunately, younger drivers like your daughter are also usually seen as higher risks to insure, which means covering her new car might be a little pricey. To make sure you’re getting the best deal on the coverage you need, try using a tool like
