Where are Aston Martin engines built?

I read that Aston Martin has a partnership with another company to produce its engines and that they aren’t actually manufactured in England. Where does Aston Martin have its engines manufactured?

While the body and interior of every Aston Martin model is produced in England, every Aston Martin engine is built in Cologne, Germany. As part of a partnership with Mercedes-Benz, Aston Martin outsourced the engine manufacturing process to the Cologne factory to save on production costs.
All four Aston Martin models currently feature Mercedes-Benz AMG engines. Here’s a quick look at these engineering marvels:
  • Aston Martin DB11: 630-hp, 5.2-liter V-12
  • Aston Martin DBX: 542-hp, 4.0-liter V-8
  • Aston Martin DBS: 715-hp, 5.2-liter V-12
  • Aston Martin Vantage: 503-hp, 4.0-liter V-8
If you have a little bit of cash—say in the $143,000 to $217,000 range—you can drive an Aston Martin into your driveway. So if you decide to buy one, just make sure to protect your investment with a quality
