A few days ago, I went to the store. When I tried to lock and unlock my car, the key fob wasn't responding. How do I replace the battery in my BMW key fob?

Standard key fob batteries typically last for three or four years. Depending on the BMW key fob you have, it may be time for a replacement.
If you have a smart key or comfort access
BMW
key fob, you’ll need to replace the battery by following these quick steps:
  1. Purchase a CR2032 battery from an auto shop or department store. You can expect to pay about $2 for it.
  2. Remove the valet key by pressing the tab on your key fob.
  3. Use the key or a flathead screwdriver to pry open your battery cover.
  4. Remove the dead battery and replace it with the new one.
  5. Close your key fob and return the key to its housing.
If you can’t open your key fob because it has an indent in the side, you have a non-comfort access key fob. Since your key fob battery is rechargeable through your car’s ignition, you’ll need to go for a long drive to recharge the battery.
