Once you have the materials gathered, follow these steps:
Step one: Start by washing and drying your car thoroughly. This will give you a clean canvas to work on and will make it easier to spot even the smallest paint runs.
Step two: Use your fine-grit sandpaper to sand down the paint runs so that they are even with the rest of the car’s paint. This process requires a sensitive touch to feel where the paint is uneven. And you’ll want to be careful not to over-sand the areas as it could cause the paint to dull.
Step three: Once you’ve finished sanding all of the paint runs, rinse and dry your car fully to get rid of any sand particles. You may want to rinse the car more than once to be certain that the surface is clean.
Step four: When the car is completely dry, apply your clear coat to the sanded areas. Be sure to follow the directions given with your clear coat to achieve the best results.
