I was thinking about buying a Ford Focus SEL for my son. He just graduated college and lives in a bit of a sketchy area of the city, so I thought that getting him a stick shift would deter would-be thieves. Does the Ford Focus SEL come with a manual transmission?

was one of the top trim levels in the Focus lineup for years. However, the Ford Focus SEL was only offered with a manual transmission during the 2009 and 2010 model years.In these two model years, the Focus SEL paired a 2.0-liter inline-four-cylinder engine with a five-speed manual transmission. Although the setup is a bit sluggish, it still offers 35 mpg on the highway and 24 mpg in the city, which is a nice feature when gas prices are a bit more volatile.
