I’m putting together the paperwork to sell my 2020 Ford Bronco, and I was wondering how the extended warranty factors in. Does Ford’s extended warranty transfer to the new owner?

Putting together the paperwork to sell a vehicle can certainly be daunting. Fortunately, you can transfer Ford’s extended warranty to the new owner. Here’s what you need to do:
- Gather the sales paperwork and owner’s manual for your Ford—check to see how much warranty coverage remains for the new owner.
- Call Ford Extended Service Plans at 800-367-3377.
- Let them know you want to transfer your extended warranty to the new owner, and they will assist you with your next steps (the process varies from state to state).
You will need to pay a fee to transfer your warranty. You can generally expect this to cost between $50 and $100, but the price will vary depending on your location. If you’re currently paying for your extended warranty through Ford’s Installment Payment Plan (IPP), the IPP must first be paid in full before you can transfer your coverage.
As you and your Bronco’s new owner hammer out the transfer of ownership, it’s important to make sure your Bronco maintains car insurance coverage.
