If Progressive gave me a check for car repairs, do I need to use the money to pay for them?
What should I do with the money from my car settlement if I already repaired my car? I already had my car repaired by the time I got the check from Progressive.

“After you settle a claim with your car insurance company, it’s common practice for Progressive to send the money directly to you.
If your car does not have a lien on it, you can cash the check and, technically, you can spend the money however you want.
One drawback is that if you use the money for something else, and your car needs additional repairs, you may have to pay out of pocket for them.”
