Does renters insurance cover medical equipment?

I rent a bungalow and I have two wheelchairs. I use one semi-regularly; the other one is kept in storage. Will my renters insurance cover these wheelchairs or any other medical equipment I buy in the future?

“Yes, your medical equipment would be covered under the limits of your personal property coverage on your renters policy. Some policies do have limitations as to what’s covered while in a storage facility, so it’s a good idea to check with your company to ask if the full value of your medical equipment would be covered while it’s not at your main residence.
Additionally, if any of your medical equipment is of high value, you may want to check with your insurance company to make sure it’s fully covered. If it’s not, you can schedule the coverage on the policy for each piece of equipment. “
