No, Kia’s factory warranty does not cover chipped and cracked windshields. However, in 2019 many new
Kia Telluride
owners complained that their windshield had been chipped and that extensive cracking had occurred, thereby preventing the owner from having the chip repaired to stave off any further damage.In response to that, Kia offered to replace chipped and cracked windshields for new Telluride owners, so long as the damage was not the result of a collision. This does not apply to other Kia models.
Kia offers one of the most extensive and comprehensive warranties in the industry—including a 10-year/100,000 mile powertrain warranty—but there are some things that are not covered, such as:
- Collision damage
- Modifications
- Damage from improper use
- Damage from improper maintenance
- Window breaks
