Does Kia have a 10-year warranty?
I recently financed a new Kia and I love it so much! I’m wondering if I should get an extended warranty since I plan to keep the car for as long as possible. Does Kia offer a 10-year warranty?

Congratulations on your new car! The good news is that Kia comes with a powertrain warranty that lasts for 10 years or 100,000 miles. This applies to any Kia manufactured after 2008.
Here’s what components this impressive warranty covers:
- Engine
- Transmission
- Axles
- Driveshafts
Kia also offers a five-year or 60,000-mile limited basic warranty which provides bumper-to-bumper coverage. Almost everything is covered between the front and back bumper if there are issues as a result of poor workmanship or faulty materials. However, components subject to daily wear and tear are not covered.
If you decide to sell your car, the 10-year/100,000-mile warranty term length shortens to a five-year/60,000-mile term length. Other additional warranty programs you purchase will fully transfer the remainder of their term.
Your warranty won’t cover damage caused by an accident, theft, vandalism, or weather damage. For that, you’ll need a car insurance policy with
collision coverage
and comprehensive coverage
