Does California have toll roads?

I’m traveling to California next summer to visit a friend. I want to drive to save money compared to flying, but I want to know what to expect when I drive through the state. Are there any toll roads in California?

California
does have toll roads
All of the state’s toll roads are in San Diego County, Orange County, and the Bay Area. Here’s a list of all of them:
  • State Route 73
  • State Route 125 (but there are plans to eliminate the toll by 2027)
  • State Route 133
  • State Route 241
  • State Route 261
The Bay Area’s tolls, all correspond to bridges:
  • Antioch Bridge
  • Benicia-Martinez Bridge
  • Carquinez Bridge
  • Dumbarton Bridge
  • Richmond-San Rafael Bridge
  • San Francisco-Oakland Bridge
  • San Mateo-Hayward Bridge
  • Golden Gate Bridge
