Does AAA offer sober ride services?

Thankfully, my girlfriend volunteered to be the designated driver, but I wondered if AAA will really drive drunk people home? Before we headed out to party this past St. Patrick's day, my brother told me that we could call AAA for a free ride if we got too drunk to drive back home.

“Kudos to your girlfriend for keeping you and your brother safe!
This surprising nugget of information is somewhat true. AAA used to offer a free tow and ride home in several areas of the country for New Year’s Eve.
However, it was not available this past New Year’s and there is no word as of yet if this service will return.
We always want to make sure drivers are safe on the road and if you intend on drinking, make sure you have a plan ahead of time on how you are getting home. Now that rideshare companies like Lyft and Uber are more popular, getting home safely has never been easier.
If you want to find a way to score a free ride home, it may take a little planning, but it is possible. Check online a few days before any holiday and search for free sober rides. Many law offices and community groups organize free rides or coupon codes to use with rideshare companies for free or discounted rides home.”
