Do Jeep Wranglers have Bluetooth?
I’ve been dreaming of buying a Jeep Wrangler for as long as I can remember but they just aren’t very practical for my lifestyle. That said, I found a steal on one recently, and I may just bite the bullet and use it as my weekend car. I have this vision of jamming out with the doors off on the open road… but do Jeep Wranglers even have Bluetooth?

Your vision sounds amazing! The answer to your question depends on which model you’re talking about. Most Jeep Wranglers after 2012 have Bluetooth capability, but you won’t find Bluetooth on any model before the 2013 Jeep Wrangler—unless it’s been retrofitted with a Bluetooth adapter.
While Bluetooth wasn’t standard on every 2013 Wrangler model, many dealerships ordered the Jeeps equipped with it to comply with the hands-free laws in many states. Driving a Wrangler equipped with Bluetooth isn’t just a handy way to play your favorite playlists without a pesky aux cord—it’s also a great way to reduce the risk of distracted driving, which could lead to lower Jeep Wrangler insurance costs!
For most Wrangler models with Bluetooth, here’s how to connect your device to your Jeep:
- On the UConnect infotainment screen, press the phone button and select “Add Device.”
- From here, navigate to “Settings.” Now your Jeep’s Bluetooth should be discoverable from your mobile device. The system may display a PIN code.
- Head to the Bluetooth menu on your phone, making sure it’s set to “discoverable.”
- Select your Jeep UConnect from the phone’s Bluetooth menu, entering the PIN if prompted. This should start the pairing process.
