Do driving instructors get drug tested?

My driving instructor seems… off. I’m wondering if driving instructors get drug tested?

Driving instructors must pass a pre-employment drug test before being able to drive any students. After hiring, many driving schools continue to drug test their instructors, usually through random drug testing.
For a driving instructor to become qualified to teach, they must undergo a rigorous screening process and background check, in addition to the training curriculum they will learn.
If you smell any drugs or alcohol during lessons and your instructor is clearly inebriated, do not try to drive or ride with them. The best and safest thing you can do is end your lesson early and report the instructor’s suspicious behavior to the school so they can handle the situation.
Unfortunately, people operate vehicles under the influence more often than you would think. Make sure you protect yourself from DUI-related accidents as best as you can with a solid insurance plan using the
