Can you wear makeup for a driving license photo?

I’m going to get my driver’s license tomorrow and was thinking about the photo. Is it okay to wear makeup in a driving license photo? Or should I go without?

You are allowed to wear makeup for your driving license photo. However, it’s recommended that you keep it simple so that your face is clearly recognizable when someone looks at your license.
Here are a few tips for taking the best driver’s license photo:
  • Don’t use makeup with glitter, as it can cause harsh reflections.
  • Use a natural tone of foundation and very subtle blush.
  • Avoid fake eyelashes and make sure your hair isn’t over your eyes during the photo.
  • Use a neutral tone of eyeshadow to add some definition without the color popping too much.
  • Right before your photo, blot away oil from your face without smudging your makeup to reduce that shiny look.
