Can you wear contacts while driving?

I never liked my eye color very much, so I’m always wearing colored contacts. I don’t think it impairs my driving at all, but my partner just told me I could get a ticket for using them while I drive. Is it okay to wear contacts while driving?

Colored contacts are a fun way to
personalize your look
, but they also have the potential to impair your vision. Unfortunately, that means you can’t wear them while driving. In fact, drivers may only wear contacts that are necessary for vision improvement while they’re on the road.
As a general rule, you can assume that any item that could impair your vision is illegal while you’re driving. So even though colored contacts may be a fun look, they’re better left off the road.
Of course, if you need contacts to see properly, you’ll be legally obligated to wear them on the road. Since your vision will be impaired otherwise, you could get pulled over and cited for driving with compromised vision.
