My lawn mower sat in my garage all winter, and now I can’t get it started. Can I jump my lawn mower battery with my car?

It is possible to jump a lawn mower with a car. It all depends on what kind of battery your lawn mower has. If your mower has a 6-volt battery it’s not safe to jump-start it with your car.
However, you can use your car to jump-start a 12-volt lawn mower battery. If you do try to jump your 12-volt lawn mower battery with your car, be sure to take these precautions:
  • Wear protective gloves and goggles in case any acid from the battery leaks
  • Don’t stand directly over the battery in case of sparks
  • Turn off your car’s engine before starting the lawn mower. Your vehicle’s battery may overload the lawn mower battery otherwise
