Can you get a DUI for driving high in Ohio?

I usually see DUI laws associated with drunk driving, so I’m not sure what happens if you drive high. If I get caught driving high in Ohio, can I still get a DUI even if I haven’t been drinking?

You’re right that DUIs are often given out for drunk driving, but you can still get a DUI if you’re caught driving high in
Ohio
. Technically, DUIs can be issued for any type of drug use, including prescription drugs.
Getting caught driving high will have very similar consequences to driving drunk, including:
  • Minimum of three days in jail or a three-day driver intervention program
  • Minimum fine of $375
  • License suspension anywhere from six months to three years
