If you have four-wheel drive, follow these steps to put your truck’s transfer case in neutral and complete the flat towing procedure:
Bring the vehicle to a complete stop on level ground, with the engine running. Firmly apply the parking brake.
Shift the transmission to neutral.

Release the parking brake.

Repeat steps 6 and 7 with automatic transmission in drive.
