Can you flat tow a Jeep Cherokee Latitude?

My Jeep Cherokee Latitude is a great vehicle, so much so that I want to take it with me on my next road trip. However, I always drive my motorhome to save money on accommodation. Can I flat tow my Cherokee Latitude?

Good news! You might be able to flat tow a Jeep Cherokee Latitude, but only if your model has Jeep Active Drive II. This 4x4 system adds a neutral and 4-LO transmission mode that’s ideal for flat towing, and you can find it on some models of the Cherokee Latitude. Just look for a 4-LO and neutral setting to make sure.
All other drivetrains and models of the Jeep Cherokee Latitude cannot be flat towed. Instead, you’ll have to use either a flatbed trailer for AWD models or a two-wheel dolly if you have a FWD model. If you use a two-wheel dolly, just make sure that the front wheels are off the ground. Consult pages 142 and 243 of your owner’s manual for proper instructions, regardless of how you decide to tow.
