Can you flat tow a 2022 Ford Maverick?
I just bought a 2022 Ford Maverick, and I’m excited to test its off-roading capabilities! To save money on accommodation, I’m going to take my RV, but I want to make sure I can tow the Maverick behind it. Is it possible to flat tow a 2022 Ford Maverick?

You can’t flat tow a 2022 Ford Maverick, regardless of trim, transmission, engine, or drivetrain. The Ford Maverick platform doesn’t allow for this type of towing, and doing so can significantly damage the transmission. The only alternative to tow the Maverick is by using a flatbed trailer.
However, you can always tow the 2022 Ford Maverick Hybrid. To tow the 2022 Maverick Hybrid, follow these steps:
- Make sure the vehicle faces forward.
- Don’t exceed 70 mph.
- Release the parking brake.
- Switch neutral tow on.
If you’re not sure how to switch neutral tow on, follow these steps:
- Switch your vehicle on in accessory mode.
- Press the menu button on the steering wheel to enter the information display main menu.
- Select Settings.
- Select Neutral Tow.
- Follow the instructions on the information display.
- Fully press the brake pedal.
- Shift into neutral.
- Switch the ignition off.
- That’s it!
