Last week, my regular car wash was closed because of a mechanical problem. I’d been looking forward to cleaning my car inside and out, especially the engine, which is really dirty. Actually, explaining how to clean an engine bay without water is pretty simple. Here are the steps:
- Allow the engine to cool.
- Open the hood. With a soft rag, remove loose dirt and debris.
- Place plastic (bags) over delicate parts such as the air intake and electrical components that you don’t want to spray with degreaser.
- Spray engine degreaser onto the engine.
- Take off the grease with a rag, scrubbing off any grease residue
- When you’ve finished wiping off the grease, wipe off the engine with a microfiber cloth to dry it.
- Remove the plastic bags from the delicate components.
- Start your engine to make sure there are no problems.
