Can I replace my 2010 Camaro SS OEM battery with an aftermarket battery?

I bought a used 2010 Camaro SS a few years ago and the original battery has just gone and died on me. I wanted to get another OEM battery, but they’re hard to find so I was wondering whether I could replace my 2010 Camaro SS OEM battery with an aftermarket battery?

The short answer is yes, you can replace your 2010 Camaro SS’ OEM battery with an aftermarket battery, but you’ll want to make sure you know a few things before you start looking, namely your old battery’s group size and cold cranking amps.
You should be able to find both numbers printed on your old battery—knowing these will help you pick out a battery that is, at the very least, comparable to your old one.
Duralast sells an OE Exact Fit H7-DLG Group Size 94R 800 CCA Gold Battery suitable for the 2010 Camaro SS for approximately $200, whereas ACDelco sells an Advantage 94RS Group Size 94R 720 CCA Battery for roughly $180.
When it comes to buying replacement parts, it pays to do your research—just like it pays to use
