Are there any safe driving tips for Halloween night?

My kids are going out trick or treating alone for the first time, but we’re going to meet them at some checkpoints with the car. Do you have any tips for driving safely on Halloween night?

That sounds like a fun night—and I’m happy to say that it’s easy to drive safely on Halloween! To drive safely, make sure to do the following:
  • Pay particular attention at crosswalks and intersections.
  • Pull-in and out of driveways cautiously.
  • Reduce your speed and pay full attention in neighborhoods or downtown areas
  • Don’t use your cell phone when driving.
  • Use caution when passing stopped cars on the street.
  • Have your
    headlights on
    to increase vehicle visibility.
  • Roll down your windows and avoid loud music.
  • Save rummaging through candy bags for when you get home.
  • If you’re in costume, make sure it doesn’t obstruct your vision, even if it’s only for short distances.
Follow these tips, and you should have a great, safe night!
