that’s this old is going to present some challenges. For one thing, you won’t find an OBD port located on a 1992 Dodge Stealth—OBD-II scanner technology wasn’t standardized on cars until 1996 and while some cars received this technology sooner than others, your Dodge doesn’t make the list. However, you may be able to diagnose some issues if you have a voltmeter.You can find a diagnostic connector in the 1992 Stealth located on the side of the fuse box behind the interior trim of the driver’s footwell. There are two rows of pins, each of which denotes a different area of your car’s systems. Connect the ground wire from your voltmeter to the bottom right pin (the ground pin), then test the positive wire from your voltmeter on every other pin.
If there’s an issue within a particular system of your car, your voltmeter needle will deflect in a pattern that tells you the specific diagnosis. But, at the end of the day, you’d have to be pretty well-versed in
classic car
technology to make sense of it, so you’re likely better off taking the car to a mechanic
