The Wrangler has a 3.6-liter V-6 engine that gets 285 horsepower, but there are plenty of options available. For example, Jeep offers the 4xe, a PHEV version of the Wrangler, though it will be quite expensive.
In any case, the Wrangler, and specifically the Rubicon, do very well off-road. After all, that's one of the main reasons for buying a 2-door SUV, as they tend to be great off-road.
That said, the Wrangler does well on paved roads, too. It's no surprise that it is one of the best 2-door SUVs ever made.

2-Door SUVs: Land Rover Defender 90
While Land Rover may be known for making some luxury cars, the Defender is one of the best 2-door SUV options. And, despite being a luxury brand, the Defender definitely can go off-road quite well.
Just like the Wrangler, Land Rover offers quite a few engine options for this SUV. It comes with a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that gets 296 horsepower. However, Land Rover offers a 3.0-liter turbocharged V-6 and a 5.0-liter supercharged V-8.
That being said, neither of those options will be cheap, as it's a Land Rover, after all. The Defender starts at about $46,000, but at least it is a luxury SUV, so it'll have plenty of comfortable features.
2-Door SUVs: Toyota Land Cruiser J40

While the Wrangler and the Defender are old SUVs that have continued to survive, the Land Cruiser J40 is simply a classic 2-door SUV. Toyota started making them in the 60s and stopped after two decades, but folks can still find them on the marketplace.
Despite its age, the Land Cruiser J40 is a great 2-door SUV option, especially for folks looking off-road. Not only is it as reliable as Toyotas are known to be, but it also has a unique look that few cars have nowadays.
That being said, since this was an SUV from the 60s, its engines were not very remarkable by today's standards.
Isuzu VehiCROSS
The Isuzu VehiCROSS, just like the Land Cruiser J40, is no longer in production. Regardless, the VehiCROSS has still left a mark on the industry, as it's still one of the best 2-door SUVs ever made.
Not only did it have a unique look, but the car was also an innovator in terms of off-roading tech. Plus, Isuzu gave it a decently powerful 3.2-liter V-6 engine that got about 215 horsepower.
This engine allowed it to off-road well, but also in a fuel-efficient manner. However, Isuzu didn't sell very many of these cars, so they're quite rare today.
