After discontinuing its gas-guzzling Hummer, GMC has jumped on the electric adventure vehicle trend, debuting a completely remodeled Hummer that’s all electric.
The new Hummer EV is competition for both electric and gas-powered cars, including the Ford Bronco. While the Bronco differs from the Hummer in its fuel source, they’re alike in many ways, and some drivers might have a tough time deciding between these two vehicles. . What is the Hummer EV?
The Hummer EV is GMC’s huge comeback for the gas-powered Hummer that was discontinued in 2010. The vehicle is set to debut first as a pickup truck with a 5-foot bed, then hit the roads in an SUV model, too.

, the Hummer EV has some crazy statistics, like a horsepower of 1,014, plus 1,200 lb-ft of torque. Despite weighing in at just over 9,000 lbs, it can still accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.0 seconds, which is incredibly impressive. There are four different trim options for the Hummer EV, and none are particularly budget-friendly. There’s the Hummer EV2, EV2X, EV3X, and Edition 1. Their prices start at $79,995, $89,995, $99,995, and $110,295, respectively, but at launch only the most expensive Edition 1 is available.
GMC states the Hummer EV has a range of about 329 miles, with the capability to add 100 miles in just 10 minutes with the 350-kilowatt fast charging feature. As for inside the cabin, there’s a removable roof, features like speaker grilles that show the Sea of Tranquility that remind us of GMC’s connection to NASA, a 13.4-inch display system and 12.3-inch digital instrument panel.

What is the Ford Bronco?
The Ford Bronco is an adventure-friendly, budget-friendly SUV that debuted in 2021 and came back even stronger this year. All Ford Broncos come with all-wheel drive, and support either a turbo-four that carries 300 hp or twin-turbo V6 engine that carries 330 hp.
While the powertrains available in the Bronco don’t have nearly as much force as the Hummer EV, the difference in price is significant. There are seven Ford Bronco trims available for 2022: Base, Big Bend, Black Diamond, Outer Banks, Badlands, Wildtrak, and Everglades. Their prices start at $32,395 for the Base, and increase up to $54,545 for the Everglades.
Although the Hummer EV and Ford Bronco might differ in power and price, what makes them similar is their adventuring capabilities. The Bronco has 17-inch rims on 35-inch tires perfect for offroading, and can pull up to 10,000 lbs for camping endeavors and road trips.
Like the Hummer’s removable roof, the Bronco has a removable four doors and a rack built into the top of the car. Inside the cabin, there’s either an 8-inch or 12-inch infotainment system, and powerful speakers to listen to music while you’re driving.
