Will home insurance cover a cracked TV screen?

Answered by Home Insurance, Car Insurance Expert Alexah on April 6, 2021

My daughter accidentally threw a Wii remote while playing a video game and it hit our TV. The screen is cracked. Will home insurance pay to fix or replace the TV?

“If your insurance policy includes “”open-perils”” coverage (also known as “”all-risk”” coverage), it may pay to fix or replace your broken TV. Under open-perils coverage, anything would be covered other than specific exclusions listed on the policy.

However, it generally does not make sense to submit small claims like this on your homeowners insurance, as they may cause your insurance rates to increase over time with little benefit. “

This app is great, but the customer service is even better! Not to mention convenient! My husband and I got the lowest rate (much lower than the rates I was finding online through my own searches), quickly, and pretty much all through text message! Thank you so much for a hassle free experience👍
